Summer Reading List 2016-2017
Dear Parents & Students,
The Shelby County Schools English/Language Arts Scope and Sequence and Curriculum Map Instructional Guide have identified
reading as an integral part of the learning for all students.
The books below are recommended for your student to read during the summer. Students will test on the books upon returning to
school for the 2016-2017 academic year.
You may obtain the selected reading material from any public library, purchase a new copy from a local bookstore or internet source,
purchase a used copy from a local bookstore or internet source, borrow a copy from a friend or family member or purchase from area
stores such as Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, K-Mart, Target, and others. The books should be read and completed by the end of the first 9weeks of school.

FOR ALL SPANISH CLASSES: Any extra supplies donated to our class would be greatly appreciated! Extra
donations can be exchanged for boletos (award tickets) that can be used to earn treats throughout the school
