The work will involve grinding off the existing surface, resurfacing, drainage structure replacement, curb and gutter removal and replacement and sidewalk replacement where necessary. The work is scheduled to begin in April and should be completed by mid summer. The estimated cost of this work is approximately $632,000 of which 80% of $545,600 is being paid for with a grant secured by the City through IDOT. Author Edgar Gamboa Navar, a picture history of Northlake with details. Inoperable Vehicles Prohibited From the Desk of State Representative Kathleen Willis It is with great honor and responsibility that I am serving my first term in the Illinois General Assembly as State Representative for the 77th District, which includes parts of Addison, Bellwood, Bensenville, Franklin Park, Maywood, Melrose Park, Northlake, Stone Park, and Wood Dale, as well as O’Hare Airport. As a newly elected, full-time State Representative, my top priorities are to improve access to quality education, prevent unfair property tax increases for working families and work to get Illinois back on the right track. I believe in leading by example, which is why I have chosen to not accept the state legislator pension and will support legislation that will make it harder for lawmakers to raise their own pay. In Springfield, I serve in the following committees; Appropriations Human Services, Energy, Public Safety: Police and Fire, State government Administration and Transportation, Regulations and Roads. As part of my efforts to stay connected to my constituents, I have created seven citizen advisory committees that will focus on different topics covering, education, seniors, women’s issues, Latino issues, Public Safety, environmental concerns and economic development and small businesses. I encourage you to contact my office if you would like to take part in any future meetings and share your thoughts on the major challenges facing our communities. To remain accessible to my constituents, I have opened a full-time constituent service office located at 112 N. Wolf Road in Northlake. We will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the first Saturday from every month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Our phone number is 708-562-6970 and we can be reached via e-mail at [email protected]. Finally, I would like to invite you to a FREE community electronics recycling and shred day on Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at my office in Northlake. At the event, your old TV’s, computers, phones and paper documents will be securely disposed of by a recycling professional. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions about state government or if you need help navigating through the often confusing state bureaucracy. It is a privilege to serve as your State Representative, and I look forward to effectively working for you. Join us. Wolf Rd, Northlake. In this lively musical, big-city teenager Ren moves to an ultra-conservative Midwestern town where dance is forbidden. He breaks every taboo – including falling in love with Ariel, the preacher’s daughter – and rallies his classmates to defy the town fathers and hold a rock ‘n’ roll prom. Based on the 1984 movie that launched actor Kevin Bacon’s career, Footloose explodes on the stage with classic 80s tunes such as “Let’s Hear it for the Boys,” and of course, “Footloose.” The cast, crew and production staff is composed of students from both campuses. You don’t want to miss this musical. These spirited students are ready to rock ‘n’ roll. Admission is $3 for students and $5 for adults. For more information, please visit www.leyden212.org/finearts.
