HAURAKI SERVICE SUB-COMMITTE: The applications for joining Hauraki Service Sub-Committe are on the desk outside the Hauraki deans' office. Please hand in your application in the yellow box on the desk by next Tuesday the 14th of February. WHOLE SCHOOL: DO YOU LIVE IN THE MILFORD AREA? Like to make a difference to keep our beaches clean? Milford Residents Assn are organising a rubbish pick-up for the head of the Wairau Estuary. Note this date in your diary, Thursday 16th February 5:15pm to 6:30pm. Area to be covered: mangroves opposite the Milford Mall – Omana Road. All householders who live close to the estuary and may not be Association members but would like to participate are welcome. Help Sustainable Coastlines look after NZ’s coastlines and waterways. After $2.5 million donated to the Starship Foundation from the sale of unwanted old mobile phones it is time for a new multi award winning NZ charity - Sustainable Coastlines to benefit from this scheme. It would be great if you could rummage around in your drawers and toy boxes and bring into School any unwanted mobile phones you may have. Phones collected help our School gain valuable rewards and also the environment benefits by keeping our landfills free of mobile phones and their array of hazardous toxic substances. ITINERANT MUSIC LESSONS: If you are interested in taking itinerant music lessons this year please pick up a Gold form from the Music Department Foyer, get your parents to fill it in and hand it in to Mrs Clarke in the Music Office. ITINERANT MUSIC LESSONS – MEET THE TEACHER: Itinerant Music teachers will be coming in during Week 2 to meet prospective students. Please check the notices on the wall of the music department explaining the times and rooms to meet each teacher. Anyone wishing to enter in the competitive events sign up sheets are in the Sports Department. All House events can be entered on the day – wear your house colours and earn points to take out the house title. SWIMMING SPORTS: On Tuesday 14th February our annual swimming sports will be held at Takapuna Pool. All competitive swimmers must enter their events online by Friday 10 th February. All house event swimmers must register for attendance and can enter events on the day. Please see the Sports Department if you have any questions. WINDSURFING: There will be a meeting on Thursday at the beginning of lunchtime(12.30) in A5 for students who are interested in finding out about windsurfing in Term 1. TENNIS: There has now been a change of days for the Development Tennis Coaching sessions: It will be on a Tuesday mornings not Thursdays. Tennis is starting on Tuesday Feb 14th for Beginners from 7.30 – 8.15am and Development from 7.15 – 8.15am. Thursday 16th Feb for Competitive and Premier Coaching 7.15 – 8.15am. VOLLEYBALL: The first game is tonight. Please check your draw on the Sports Department Noticeboard. Please also come to the sports dept to collect a playing shirt. TOUCH: Thank you to all the girls that trialed for Touch. The team lists will be up on the Sports Department noticeboard shortly. Please ensure you have collected a newsletter and get your fees paid to confirm your place in a team. Touch singlets will be issued next Monday. CRICKET: We still require two more players for 1st XI. Please see the Sports Department if you are keen to play. Games are on a Wednesday night.
