2016-2017 Texas DECA Scholarship Application
Texas DECA is offering three (3) $1,000 scholarships for the purpose of giving recognition and
financial support to senior students who are official members of Texas DECA and intend to pursue a
career in the area of business/marketing.
The application will be screened at the district level and the finalists will be notified in writing prior
to the State Career Development Conference. The Texas DECA Scholarship Committee will interview
finalists at State CDC. Scholarship recipients will be announced at State CDC Grand Awards.
Requirements:
 Application materials must be postmarked two weeks before the District CDC to be
considered.
 Official Transcript must be submitted with application.
 TWO letters of recommendation must be submitted with application.
Students will be selected on the basis of:
 DECA Participation
 Grade(s) in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Course(s)
 Future educational plans and career goals in the area of business/marketing
 Financial Need
Interview Evaluation Criteria:
 Overall business/professional conduct
 Professional appearance
 Knowledge of the free enterprise system
Mail Cover Page, Statement of Qualifications, Official Transcript, and Letters of Recommendation
to Your District Director Two (2) Weeks Prior to District CDC’s
