Students from John Haley Elementary School Lead Pledges
Students from John Haley Elementary School led the pledges to the American and Texas

Simone Galvan Recognized as Teacher of the Month
Simone Galvan, a fifth-grade science teacher at the Stipes Elementary School, was
honored by the Board of Trustees and Administration as the Irving ISD Teacher of the
Month for April. Galvan is pictured with Board member Lee Mosty.
Neftali Del Cid Recognized as Employee of the Month
Neftali Del Cid, building manager at Johnson Middle School, was honored by the Board
of Trustees and Administration as the Irving ISD Employee of the Month for April. Del
Cid is pictured with Board member Nell Anne Hunt.
Gloria Natal Recognized as Guest Educator of the Month
Gloria Natal, a guest educator for Irving ISD, was honored by the Board of Trustees and
Administration as the Irving ISD Guest Educator of the Month for April. Natal is pictured
with Board Vice President Dr. Steven Jones.
Destination Imagination Teams Recognized for Qualifying for State Competition
Five Destination Imagination teams from Irving ISD were recognized for advancing to the
State Tournament that was held on April 1 and 2 in Anna, Texas. The teams were:
Definition of Creativity from AS Johnston Elementary, Helping Heroes from Stipes
Elementary, Donut Destroyers from Johnson Middle School, Mamas of the House from
Singley Academy and Marvelous Masterpieces from Johnson Middle School.
The Definition of Creativity team from Johnston Elementary School placed first at
regionals and seventh at state. Pictured are (from left) team members Rylee Williams,
