We will look at various artists and how they have used water colour then undergo a series of workshops on different aspects and techniques. Students will develop skills based on a series of different visual stimuli. The aim is for them to have completed a series of experimental practice paintings and one well worked finished piece by the end of the term. Term 2 - Painting with Oil. After looking at the different ways in which oil paint was used by a selection of artists, one method will be demonstrated. Students to then practice the technique. When they are confident, students will draw up ideas for a painting. Students will choose a visual based on a natural form and after drawing up their idea will complete a painting in oil on canvas.
