Cartoon Character Craft
All children love cartoons, some are educational while others
are just fun to watch. Either way, in this ECA Club, your child
will get the chance to construct and create cartoon character
crafts. Making characters involve creativity and imagination.
They also develop their fine motor skills when constructing.
What a fun way to end a school day than to make your
favourite cartoon character to take home with you!

Swimming
Do you want to learn how to swim in a fun, friendly environment? Get to
play in the water and learn to swim at the same time at this swimming
ECA. Learn all about water safety and practice the different strokes
while becoming a pro in no time!

Junior Muay Thai
Junior Muay Thai was founded in 2012 and aims to teach students
between 3-12 years old how to manage and take care of their
bodies, to learn the disciplines of Muay Thai and also how to protect
themselves and others. The Junior Muay Thai sessions are taught
in English by professional Muay Thai trainers who follow the “10 to
GOAL” slogan. Junior Muay Thai also encourages a ‘No violence, no
harming others’ policy.

If your children love digging into arts and crafts projects with paint
up totheir elbows, relax -- they’re learning and developing in

At Early years children participate in both arts and crafts. Creativity
and imagination receive strong stimulation. Children can also
learn about symbolic communication through the art they create,
choosing various colors to communicate feelings, for example, and

Do you enjoy reading? Let your creative and artistic side come out
with Storybook Art. Enjoy reading a variety of stories, learning more
about your favourite characters and bringing them to life. Have fun

Come to learn Thai Art with Kru Koi!
Kru Koi has been teaching Thai Art at Ascot for 2 years now.
Her classes teach a range of skills, such as drawing, painting,
moulding and modelling. The students will get hands-on with
materials, follow instructions and produce artwork to be proud
of. They’ll also develop other areas such as concentration and
coordination skills, scissors skills and paintbrush skills.

Students can shake their sillies out in this active ECA!! Children
naturally love music! Whether it’s soft and soothing or a lively
tune, children feel it both physically and emotionally. Music and
movement are also social activities that help children feel part of the
group. We will learn lots of new types of songs with accompanying
dances or actions and have lots of fun too!

Join this ECA and you can have a head start on your homework before you are
even home from school! That means you’ll have more time to enjoy yourself
at home and spend time with your friends. You can do your homework while
you’re still at school so you will have teachers to guide you and school friends
to support you too.

Glee Club (with KS2)
Ascot Glee Club is for students who enjoy singing. Activities include solo
singing and group singing. Glee members can choose their favourite
songs to sing with a karaoke type set up in the music room.

Our real hands-on class allows kids to improve their muscle control and strength
while enhancing their 5 sensories, specially their taste buds! We encourage kids
to get involve in almost every process and learn about utensils, kitchenware,
kitchen terms and importantly kitchen safety. When cooking together, kids will
have to co-operate, share and help each other, while being responsible and
discipline for the public. Our menus are designed to give kids as much freedom
as possible, for them to experiment almost everything, as if they were doing art. We have a saying, “don’t say no before
you try”. Even something they don’t like, mostly vegetables. Cooking will help them absorb healthy eating habits. Math
and science are automatically be involved in the cooking process such as measuring, weighting, colouring and the change
state of substance.Cooking can help kids develop understanding within themselves such as, self-confidence, self-esteem,
temperament, patience and independency.

Mandarin (HSK training) (Y4,5,6)
Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK) is an international standardized exam
that tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It assesses nonnative Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language
in their daily, academic and professional lives. HSK consists of six
levels, namely the HSK (level I) to HSK (level VI).
Through the test training, Students are able to know more about
Chinese culture, and are able to prepare for the HSK test in the
future. The ECA class of 2015 - 2016 academic year will focus on
HSK-level II test training.

In this club we will be arguing, but in a respectful way. We will learn how to conduct proper debates about various
issues, from current affairs and history. We shall be doing research to make our cases stronger and learning how to
pick apart other people's arguments. In the future we would also aim t challenge other schools to debates. Also
you'll get to challenge me and other teachers, see if you can beat us. This is a good way to improve English skills
(speaking and listening especially) and skills such as research, which are very important in school and beyond.

Term 1 – Water colour.
Looking at the Landscape, Still Life and the Portrait in water colour. We will look at various artists and how they
have used water colour then undergo a series of workshops on different aspects and techniques.

This will include different kinds of wash and how best to apply the paint, what brushes/paper to use, building up
the painting, use of shadows and different effects.
Students will develop skills based on a series of different visual stimuli. The aim is for them to have completed a
series of experimental practice paintings and one well worked finished piece by the end of the term.
Term 2 - Painting with Oil.
After looking at the different ways in which oil paint was used by a selection of artists, one method will be
demonstrated. Students to then practice the technique. When they are confident, students will draw up ideas for a
painting.
Students will choose a visual based on a natural form and after drawing up their idea will complete a painting in oil
on canvas.
Term 3 – Acrylic or Manga

The Astronomy Club will provide students with knowledge beyond the school, and even beyond the Earth!
Through various activities, such as model making, research and experiments students will learn about our amazing

The International Award is a scheme which encourages students to be independent and help them to realise their
potential.
It requires a service, a fitness programme and developing a skill. These are chosen by the individual students and
is strongly linked to CAS for the IB.
The other element is an adventurous journey in which the students decide what they are going to take, including
food. They also learn how to put up tents and cook their own food.
It is a worthwhile and rewarding enterprise and a great sense of achievement is felt by all taking part
