Help Us Raise
The Alumni Giving Rate!!!!
AlumniIt's Time To Claim
Your Seat!!!!!!
We are looking for
2,017 Alumni
to participate in
this year’s campaign!
This year's campaign will be "Takeoff 2017!"
The goal of the campaign will be to raise the alumni participation rate for UMES. Our goal is
not based on a dollar figure but more of an increase in the number of alumni participation through
giving, no matter how small or how large the gift.
The Importance of Alumni Participation Rates Brings:
The Value of a UMES Degree
Parents and prospective students look at national rankings and alumni participation rates show as indications of
how satisfied alumni are with the school and the quality of the degree.
National Rankings
External evaluators such as the U.S. News and World Report use participation rates when calculating rankings.
Right now, UMES’ overall alumni giving rate lags behind other national universities and colleges.
Financial Resources
Annual giving is an essential resource for the University. Corporations and foundations often want to know about
internal support before committing external dollars. Alumni giving is a key measure of internal support.
No matter the size of your gift, please consider making a gift to the University this year.
Your personal involvement will send a strong message to former classmates, fellow alumni
and potential students and donors to help raise the participation rate.
You may make an online contribution or write a check payable to the UMES Foundation!
Once you do this, you have “claimed your seat” and shown the system that we can be
"THE BEST" at garnering support!
Our Students Deserve It! Thank You For All You Do!
Dr. William P. Hytche arrived in Princess Anne, Maryland in 1960 as a math
instructor and over the ensuing 37 years rose through the faculty ranks to
become the president of University of Maryland Eastern Shore. View the three
phases of the construction of the Hytche Museum: the handcrafted portrait of
Dr. Hytche by Simmie Know, the expansion of the UMES history told through
pictures, letters, and historical artifacts and the lastly, the statue of this
remarkable man.
Thank You To Our Sponsors!
