Win up to $2,500 in savings bonds SHOW US YOUR PLAN Who Can Participate? The contest is open to middle school and high school educators in the Sixth Federal Reserve District. For More Information About the Contest The objective is to develop a lesson plan that features Federal Reserve publications, Web sites, and/or multimedia materials. Possible topics include Federal Reserve purposes and functions, the history and structure of the Federal Reserve, economics, and personal finance. You can also develop lesson plans for interdisciplinary areas such as mathematics, language arts, social studies, and business. A wide variety of Federal Reserve resources are available online at www.federalreserveeducation.org to help you. Entry deadline is February 1, 2008. Winners will be notified in March 2008. First place – $1,000 savings bond Second place – $800 savings bond Third place – $600 savings bond Fourth place – $400 savings bond Fifth place – $200 savings bond Finalists will be recognized at either an event at their local Reserve Bank office, at an educator conference, or at their school. District Awards The first-place winners will then compete for the top prize and will be invited to an awards ceremony at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta headquarters. Local Awards Up to five finalists from each Sixth District office (Atlanta, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, and New Orleans) will receive the following: Savings bonds will be awarded to the district finalists as follows: First place – $1,500 savings bond Second place – $1,000 savings bond Third place – $750 savings bond Honorable mention (3) – $250 savings bond Eligibility is available to teachers and educators teaching or employed by a school system in a county listed. Also eligible are pre-service educators attending a university in a county listed.
