If entries are full, a notice will be placed on www.epicevents.co.nz Anyone who enters after entries are full will be advised and refunded. Whilst absolutely every effort will be made to run Suzuki Desert Storm, it is possible that all or part of the event may have to be cancelled at any stage. If the event is cancelled by the Organisers, then no refunds will be given prior to, during or after the event. The only circumstance that a rider will be given a refund is if the rider finds they cannot attend the event for medical or similar reason up to 10 days prior to Desert Storm. If Desert Storm is not able to be held 9-10 May 2015, then it will be postponed to 14-15 November 2015. Force Majure Under no circumstances shall Epic Events be held liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from acts of nature, forces or causes beyond its reasonable control including without limitation; fires, flood, storms, explosion, acts of God, war, governmental actions or nonperformance by third parties. GENERAL INFORMATION: SUZUKI DESERT STORM 9-10 MAY 2015 VENUE Karioi Station Road, Karioi Forest, State Highway 49, Ohakune. Event base is located off SH49 about half way between Ohakune and Waiouru. Look for, large Epic Events signs and orange arrows on SH49. SUITABLE FOR This ride takes place in an alpine environment which can be harsh in wet or snowy conditions. Children and Novice riders must be accompanied by an experienced Adult if riding the main trails. ATV’s are welcome. No pillions! TRACKS SATURDAY Long trail (63km). Middle trail (20km). Novice trail (6km). Kids grass track (1km). Kids Forest trail (1km). Practice Enduro X track. TRACKS SUNDAY New Long trail (53km). Plus all of Saturday’s trails open. TRACK DESCRIPTION The tracks are not difficult. There will be NOVICE OPTIONS for any tough sections. Both Long trails have 1/3rd & 2/3rd short cuts. All trails were graded early so will be very settled. There are NEW trails for 2015. Tracks open from 9am until 3pm. CAMPSITE The vehicle height restriction is 4.25 metres to fit under the railway power lines. Campervans and buses are welcome. Campsite has marquee, toilets, hot showers and separate quiet and noisy camping zones. No dogs allowed. Open from 3pm. ENTERTAINMENT Music and entertainment will take place from 7.30pm inside the marquee TV ZONE Dirt Riding DVD’s playing all day. The maximum trail length will be 65km. (Including expert sections). There is no fuel stop. Some riders may need to take some spare fuel. The closest Petrol Stations are in Waiouru and Ohukune (20 mins away) SATURDAY 9th MAY Pre-ordered meals will be served in the main marquee. Please see the schedule for times. Espresso coffee, cold drinks and casual food will be available for purchase at the vendors stalls. MotoSR will have mechanics on site to provide a mechanical service. There will be limited parts and accessories available to buy. Note this is not a full motorcycle shop and normal charges for labour apply. Compulsory items: motorcycle helmet, leather boots, long trousers & long sleeved top. Recommended items: Gloves, goggles, body armour, polypropylene thermal clothing and rain jacket. It can get extremely cold we strongly suggest that you carry additional clothing. Not allowed: No Short sleeves. No gumboots, except for Mini riders on the Mini tracks. FIRE All Adult riders riding the red arrowed trails must carry a fire extinguisher EXTINGUISHERS 0.3 litre size minimum! Riders on kids and novice tracks do not need extinguishers. This is a forestry requirement and will be strictly enforced. Extinguishers available at $30.00 each Entertainment SUNDAY 10th MAY Tracks may close early if necessary. No sign out necessary.
