Legislative, executive and judicial are the names of the three branches.
The Legislative branch makes laws, the executive branch makes laws official, and the judicial
branch interprets and carries laws out.
The Legislative branch is made up of senators and representatives elected from each state. They
serve 2 years in the House of Representatives and 6 year terms in senate.
The Executive branch is led by the president and his cabinet, serves a minimum 4-year term, not
to exceed 8-years.
The Judicial branch is made up of appointed judges, they serve a life term.
Understanding the responsibilities of local government empowers you as a citizen.
