Free diving (2 sessions): Mask, fins, snorkel, WB. Retrieve equipment from the
bottom on one breath;
•
Scuba training (9 sessions): Breathing techniques, buoyancy control, buddy breathing,
ditch and don, rescues;
•
Black-out drills, free ascents, buoyancy control, entries and exits.
Open Water (Weekend in Kingston)
•
1st Shallow Dive: Open water orientation, all equipment except SCUBA,
buoyancy check with wetsuit
•
2nd Shallow Dive: SCUBA orientation, all SCUBA drills, U/W navigation
•
3rd Shallow Dive: Exploration Dive, U/W navigation
•
1st Deeper Dive: Wreck Dive
•
2nd Deeper Dive: Wreck Dive
Course Expenses
Pool (Northview Heights SS at Bathurst and Finch)
•
Pool rental and lifeguard is paid by the Garrison Toronto Rec Scuba Club
Basic Equipment (You must purchase)
• Fins (with adjustable straps)
• Mask (separate lens that can accommodate corrective lenses)
• Snorkel (no purge valve)
• 7 mm wetsuit boots
• S.S. weight belt buckle
• Qty-2 X 3lb weights

Course Expenses
Open Water Qualification Dives

Drive, Toronto-Kingston, early Saturday morning

Overnight Saturday lodging and meals (CFB Kingston has $25.00/night accommodation)
Other Costs
• Base SCUBA Club membership + Rec Council membership (1 year/military)* = $101.50
• Pool rental for the duration of the course $100.00/each
• Dive Tables Card ($20.00)

• Certification Card “C” card, $25.00 + shipping
• Course text book (can be purchased second hand on amazon.ca or used book stores)
*Rec Council membership and family memberships must be purchased first prior to SCUBA Club membership.

You will be taught how to care for your equipment
You will be issued regulator, BC and tank-SCUBA club
Tanks will be filled prior to every pool session and open water dives (free of charge)
Responsible for equipment care, maintenance and transport
Responsible for tank delivery and pick-up

You must rent wetsuit (full 7mm suit, hood and gloves) from Innerspace Divers Supply or any
other reputable dive shop (make sure you get properly fitted equipment prior to open water dives).
Cost may vary per dive shop.
Requirement of the NAUI course to be exposed to a professional dive shop
