Indonesian Stockpile Cover ‘Image provided from previous installation at PT Kaltom Supacoal showing similar structure’ THE PROJECT In November, 2011, Universal Fabric Structures installed a 1,680m2 tensioned fabric stockpile cover in Indonesia. In response to our client’s specific needs we have offered a stockpiling solution in the form of a 40m x 42m S-Span Curved profile structure which is easy to erect, quick to dismantle and fully relocatable. The structure has been designed around the client’s requirements of fully open gable ends with sides open to a height of 5.7m when set on 2,500mm high concrete plinths. The stockpile cover is for a coal store which could be susceptible to spontaneous combustion. In order to manage this risk the structure has been clad in 6m bay panels which can be replaced if necessary. Premium Ferrari 702 PVC fabric was selected as a high quality and flame retardant material with a 7 year warranty and expected lifespan of 15+ years. Included in the project was the design and engineering of the structure as well as the supply, fabrication, PVC membrane, aluminium extrusions and the strand bracing cables as well as galvanizing of the structural steel. Universal Fabric Structures has a long and established track record of providing high quality fabric structures for the mining industry and have the capability to manage projects across a range of mining applications throughout Australasia and worldwide.
