Harmsco® ALL-POLY Filter Cartridges
Harmsco ALL-POLY filter cartridges are constructed entirely of polypropylene
for high purity and chemical compatibility. These highly efficient filter elements
are available with double open ends or "222" o-ring style end caps for
superior sealing. A full range of micron ratings are available in three media
types. Filter media, center tubes and outer cage are joined by fusion welding
so there are no adhesives to potentially contaminate liquids.

Our HIF-7-SS-222 (shown left) is
constructed entirely of 304 stainless
steel and accepts seven ALL-POLY
cartridges with 222 o-ring end caps
for superior sealing. Rim gasket is
EDPM. (Viton & Buna-N available)

Backwash Protocol
Harmsco Absolute Rated and Membrane ALL-POLY cartridges are backwashable to reduce maintenance and
cartridge replacement costs. Because applications vary, rigid rules for backwash operation are impossible.
For best results please use these guidelines and the diagram shown below:

Initiate backwash cycle when pressure drop is 3-4 psi
(0.2-0.3 bar) above the initial value, or timed once daily.
Stop process by closing valves 1 and 2.
Begin backwash flow by opening valves 3 and 4.
Backwash pressure should be about 10 psi (0.7 bar)
greater than the existing pressure drop.
A momentary pressure surge is beneficial.
Backwash flow rate is critical, and should be 1 to 1.5 times
the process flow rate. Allow sufficient time to flush vessel.
Close valves 3 and 4 and open valves 1 and 2 to resume
normal filtration. Vent the vessel if necessary. Note the
decrease in pressure drop.
Continue backwash until pressure drop no longer decreases.
