Combine Calibration 1. Be sure crop type and combine setting are correct. 2. Turn off Variety Tracking. If it is on it will jump between tasks and calibrations will not be accurate. 3. Go to the run screen with your Grower, Farm, Field, and Task. 4. Create a name for these if one has not previously been made. 5. When you get to the task hit edit name 6. Delete name and rename task to cal “low, med, or high” pending on the flow you are doing at the moment. Name should look as so cal high 1. 7. Now we will harvest around 5000lbs of grain at desired rate stated in the task name. High is as fast as you will ever harvest, low is coming in at a slow pace, and med is somewhere in between. All tasks harvested for calibrations should be in similar weight. This is why I choose 5000lbs because more weight cal take a very long time in low flow. 8. Now that the desired amount of product is harvested go to run screen with task and start a new task. This is a critical part because if a new task is not started the calibration task will not be in the calibrations menu. 9. From Run Screens hit the back button and go to the Calibrations section. 10. The next step is the same for moisture and yield. 11. Hit moisture tab and fast, wizard, and advanced come up. Go to advanced. 12. Choose Grower, Farm, Field, Crop type, and Task that was just completed. 13. If you are doing this stem for moisture you will now see the moisture for the task. If in yield cal you will see the weight harvested for the task. 14. Enter the actual moisture from the task and a % error will come up and a cal task dropdown. Write down the task name and % error for yield and moisture. Do not calibrate task at this time. 15. Repeat steps 5 through 14 until you have 2 calibration loads for each rate of harvest and have written down the percent error for all of the tasks. 16. Once all the tasks and errors are written down we will be looking for a tight group of % error. Results may look as such. Task name Moisture % error Yield % error Cal low 1 3.1 4.6 Cal low 2 3.2 4.4 Cal .med 1 3.1 4.5 Cal med 2 3.0 6.1 Cal high 1 4.7 4.5 Cal high 2 3.2 4.4 What we are looking for in these % error are a grouping of similar error. For moisture error our grouping would be 3.0 to 3.2. Most fall within the group except cal high 1 at 4.7. Because it is not in the group we do not want to use this in our calibration. We will only us 5 of the 6 tasks for our moisture calibration. For yield it is similar to the moisture in the fact that we have a good grouping at 4.4 to 4.6 % error except for cal med 2 at 6.1. because it is not in the grouping with the rest of the numbers we will not use it in our calibration because it would throw off our accuracy. 17. Once we have decided what tasks are within our acceptable error we can now go to the calibrations and advanced. For both moisture and yield choose the grower, farm, field, and task. In the dropdown for Cal task change to yes for all acceptable cal tasks. Do not change for the tasks that are not within the grouping. 18. Once all acceptable tasks are changed to yes on cal tasks we need to run a test load to be sure we now have an acceptable final % of error.
