ON THE MOUND: Rookie lefty Steven Brault is making his seventh Major League start tonight and is still seeking his first big
league victory...He made each of his first three starts with the Bucs on the road, which included his big league debut on 7/5
at St. Louis...Brault pitched a career-high 6.0 innings in his second start on 7/29 at Milwaukee...In his first 12 minor league
games thru the end of July, Brault posted a 1.99 ERA (54.1ip/12er); he was charged with 19 earned runs in his final five starts

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN: Felipe Rivero has produced a 1.57 ERA (23.0ip/4er) and 34 strikeouts in 23 games with the Pirates
since making his first appearance with the club in Milwaukee on 7/31 after being acquired in a trade for Mark Melancon the
day before...Over his last 36 games, dating back to 6/19, Rivero has posted a 1.28 ERA (42.1ip/6er) and 49 strikeouts; his
1.28 ERA in that time is the lowest among all National League left-handed relief pitchers (minimum: 40.0ip).
HOT ROD ON THE ROAD: In the first eight games of this road trip, Sean Rodriguez has hit safely in all eight games, going
12-for-29 (.414) with five home runs, 12 RBI and a 1.386 OPS...In his last 15 games played on the road, dating back to 8/14,
Sean Rod has gone 17-for-42 (.405) with six homers, 16 RBI, a .480 on-base percentage and a 1.313 OPS.

JOYCE IS IN THE RECORD BOOKS: Matt Joyce walked for the 21st time as a pinch hitter Saturday night, setting the Major
League record for most walks as a pinch hitter in a season...The previous mark of 20 was held by Atlanta’s Greg Norton in
2009 and Matt Franco, who walked 20 times as a pinch hitter with the Mets in 1999.
SELECT COMPANY: Andrew McCutchen has hit 23 home runs this season...He is one of just four Pittsburgh players to hit
at least 20 home runs in six or more consecutive seasons, joining Ralph Kiner (1946-1952) Frank Thomas (1953-1958)
and Willie Stargell (1964-1976)...McCutchen now ranks fifth on the team’s all-time home run list with 174; Barry Bonds is
fourth with 176 and Roberto Clemente is third with 240...Only two Pittsburgh right-handed batters have hit more home runs

RECORD HOLDER: Juan Nicasio struck out two batters in his 2.0 innings of work Saturday night and has now recorded
at least one strikeout in 29 straight appearances, a single-season club record for a Pirates relief pitcher...The 29-game K
streak is the longest in MLB this season and matches Cody Allen’s streak with Cleveland in 2015...The next-longest streak of
consecutive games with at least one strikeout by a relief pitcher is 37 games by Cincinnati’s Aroldis Chapman in 2014 (source: Elias).
IN A PINCH: Matt Joyce has gone 13-for-55 with a Major League-leading 21 walks as a pinch hitter this season...He has
produced a .455 on-base percentage as a pinch hitter and leads MLB with 15 RBI off the bench...Joyce’s four pinch-hit home
runs are also tied for the Major League lead and his 15 RBI as a pinch hitter are one shy of the club record of 16, set by Willie
Stargell in 1982...His last pinch hit RBI came on 8/17 at San Francisco.
