When you write a sentence, the subject and verb must agree. You
must know whether the subject is singular (one) or plural (more
than one), and then make sure the verb is the same.
EXAMPLE:
The cat jumps off the sofa.
The verb jumps ends in s because the subject cat is singular.

The cats jump off the sofa.
The verb jump does not end in s because the subject cat is plural.
