GENERAL INFORMATION FOR BOARDERS
UNAMED ITEMS OF CLOTHING
These are a considerable nuisance to both Laundry and House staff. They will be retained by the Laundry, and sent to
charity if not claimed by the end of term.
ALTERATIONS
Dancers offer an alteration service whereby garments can be amended to fit as required. Please see price list.
REPAIRS
Matrons will arrange for urgent repairs for boarders during the school week, but parents are responsible for checking
their sons' uniform and making all other repairs as necessary.
PARENTS OF OVERSEAS STUDENTS
Suppliers offer a delivery service for all school uniform to parents/guardians of overseas pupils only, as they may
experience difficulties in visiting the Halesowen shop. Please contact suppliers directly and as soon as possible to
discuss your requirements. They can also arrange for name tapes to be sewn onto clothing purchased from them (at
an extra charge).
LAUNDRY
At the beginning of term, please consult your son’s House Matron for details of the House laundry system.
It is recommended that blazers are dry cleaned. Trousers, sweaters and ties can be dry cleaned or washed at home by
parents. Parents of full boarders should make suitable arrangements with Matrons.
Parents/guardians should ensure that they use a washing powder/liquid without bleaching agents for all washable
coloured clothing and bedding bought from Dancers. All other washable items of school uniform, including sports kit,
can be washed in the school laundry.
BEDDING
It is essential that all bedding is purchased from Dancers, as it is made to measure specifically for our beds and all
duvets are of a Proban treated cotton-covered fire retardant material.
At the end of term one set of bed linen is retained for the first sheet change the following term.
Parents of new pupils are asked to supply pillows for their sons, which should be clearly labelled with name tapes.
Parents are asked to be responsible for the laundering of the pillows.
END OF TERM
Apart from the single set of bed linen which is retained for the beginning of the next term, all items of clothing and
equipment must be taken home. The school accepts no responsibility for items left in school during the holidays.
Special arrangements are made for pupils living overseas.

OSH NEARLY NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM SHOP
(Located at the back of Witley House)
Remember to visit us when you’re tackling the
huge task of buying uniform for your son, and
remember how quickly they grow! We offer
great value – for example blazers from £10-£25,
trousers £5, shirts £2. We carry some sports kit,
and aim for a wide range of sizes, but are of
course dependent on what we receive as
donations.
Volunteers Needed!
We’re keen to recruit new parent volunteers to join our team at the Nearly New
Shop. The commitment is small, just a few hours per term, but is hugely appreciated
and helps raise significant funds for the School. Please email [email protected] if
you’d like to find out more.
THE NEARLY NEW SHOP IS RUN BY VOLUNTEER PARENTS AND ALL OUR PROFITS ARE
DONATED TO SCHOOL PROJECTS
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
