DATE: Sunday November 18th Wrekin College Pool - 11am – 3pm Swimmers to arrive in good time as figure competition will begin promptly at 11am. EVENTS: Figure competition open to all club swimmers Swimmers to compete in four Age Groups, 9 and under, 10-12, 13-14 and 15 and over. Solo to be 1 minute +/- 15 seconds. (10 sec deck work allowed) ANY choice of music Top 8, 12 and under swimmers to swim in Solo event and Top 8, 13 and over swimmers to swim in Solo event FURTHER DETAILS AND RULES: th Entry forms to be made available for swimmers from September 16 Free entry to swimmers and £1 for spectators st Swimmers must be club registered by October 1 2012 On entry forms swimmers must state if they are entering the Free Solo event th Closing date for entry forms is Sunday October 14 2012 All swimmers perform the figures as stated for their Age Group Scoring for figures and routines to be based on FINA rules (Scores are awarded by the 5 judges out of 10.0. The HIGHEST and LOWEST scores are then discounted; the remaining 3 scores are totalled for an overall score. ) Solos will be scored for Artistic Impression and Technical Merit Figures to be completed in black swimsuit, white cap and nose clip. Goggles are optional. Swimsuit and cap to have no markings / patterns Figures will be performed in order of swim, to be drawn on the day ALL swimmers to remain on poolside (shallow end wall) during the competition and remain quiet throughout the figures. Advised to bring warm towel, t-shirt+ shorts, flip-flops and drink Solo music of swimmers choice and to be in accordance with stated times. Time penalties will be applied to long / short routines Solos will be choreographed by swimmers without help from the club coaches – however session time will be given to swimmers to practice swimming their routine to music, but they will not be coached Swimmers can wear any swimsuit of their choice for their Solo. Must be a one piece and ‘decent’. Referee’s decision is final if choice of costume is seen to be inappropriate. Club cannot provide swimsuits. Hair can be gelled or worn in a cap for Solos Music must be provided on a CD with swimmers’ name and age group clearly marked. Handed in to officials once the qualifications have been announced Order of swim for solos will be drawn after qualification rd nd st Medals will be awarded at Club Presentation to 3 , 2 , 1 for Age Group Figures, 12 and Under Solo and 13 and Over Solo Spectators welcome for Figure Section and Solo Event. (Must remain quiet throughout Figure Section) Swimmers are to stay on poolside during figures, can then move to spectator area if they are not competing in the solo event A parade of all competitors will take place at the end of the competition. Swimmers must be dressed in black shorts or leggings with a club (or black) t- shirt – PLEASE ORDER KIT ONLINE or AT CLUB SHOP The use of photography (cameras, mobile phones or video cameras) is FORBIDDEN during the Figure Section. The use of photography during the routine section must be in accordance with the following: i) You can only photograph swimmers from whom you have consent from their parent, guardian or carer. ii) Photographs must not be shared on social networking sites without complete consent from both the swimmer and parent, guardian or carer.
