TK/Kindergarten Registration
If you have a child needing to register for TK/Kindergarten
Registration for Fall 2016 please call Nodland Elementary
at (712) 274-4044 to sign up. Registration this year will be
held on April 28,
2016.
IOWA ASSESSMENT TIPS
March 1 through March 14
Have your child read a book or 1 chapter of a book
and ask questions such as:
1. What would be a good title for this book, chapter,
section?
2. Summarize the story.
3. Retell the story in sequence (order).
4. What can you infer (predict) that will happen
next?
5. Compare and contrast the main character to
yourself.
6. Were there any new vocabulary words?
7. How did you figure out the definition of the new
vocabulary words?

Just a reminder we are needing snacks for the Iowa
Assessments for 2nd grade thru 5th grade. Keeping your
kids minds strong is important to make them succeed with
these tests. Please bring all snacks to the office if you are
willing to donate. Thank you for all you do.

Please join us on Saturday, March 5th at Southern Hills Mall Carmike
Cinemas for “Zootopia”. Doors open at 9:30 AM and the movie starts at
10:00 AM. Concessions will be available. Tickets are $4.00 each. All
you will need to do is check in at the door and your name will be
on a spreadsheet.

Healthy Snacks
Because snacks are part of a balanced diet, it is important to
choose healthy snacks. To promote proper nutrition and reduce consumption of high-sugar foods, which lead to cavities, the following are
suggestions of appetizing foods that can be substituted for sweet
snacks:
Bagels
Melba Toast w/cheese or cheese spread
Popcorn
Mozzarella String Cheese
Fresh Fruit
Vegetable Sticks and Cheese Cubes
Rice Cakes
Cheerios mixed with pieces of dried fruit
Fruit Juice (100% real)
Pita Pocket cut in half with cheese spread
Children enjoy preparing these snacks as well as eating them.
Help your child develop a healthful snacking habit.

Just a reminder, if you have had a change in address, phone numbers (both home or cell), or emergency contacts, please notify the
school office. This is very important that we have current information so that you can be reached in case of an emergency.
