The Adjustable Half Hexagon Ruler guide is used at both ends of the ruler.
The ruler is clear with etched lines and markings for accuracy- the following diagrams show the lines in colour to
help you learn how the tool works.
You can use the Westalee Adjustable half
Hexagon Ruler to accurately and easily cut the 5
pieces for making quilts using Half Hexagons and
you can also cut hexagons.
Decide on the size you wish to make and set your Westalee Adjustable Ruler to the width eg: 31/2” (for a finished width
of 3”).
With the fabric folded for 4 layers cut the required number of strips.
HALF HEXAGON
For HALF HEXAGONS use the markings shown in RED
Trim the right hand angle
Flip fabric
Place the guide to the cut edge and cut the
right hand side.

QUARTER HEXAGON
For QUARTER HEXAGONS use the markings shown in BLUE
Trim the Left hand side with a right
angle cut
Place the guide to the straight edge and cut
the right hand side.
EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE
For EQUILATERAL TRIANGLES use the markings shown in GREEN
Trim the Right hand side of the
strip
Rotate fabric 180º
Rotate the ruler
Place the guide to the cut edge and cut the right
hand side.
