Suncoast Blvd., Crystal River, FL 34429 Website: www.crystalrivervillagehoa.com Email: [email protected] President’s Island Report The sausage was frying to feed 56! Then the meatballs for 75 we had to fix! The HOA had 2 successful events in our new kitchen beginning in October. Cooking and baking were much more efficient with the new appliances. A grand time was had by all who came. Judy and David served a delicious breakfast...followed by a superb "Italian Dinner" prepared by Doug and Lois DeKalb. I want to thank both couples and their "crews" for all the decorating, setting up, serving 131+ people and all the cleaning up. I appreciate all their teamwork and the support from all who attended. It is a great HOA! Keep an eye on the bulletin board for future signup sheets for upcoming events. The sign-up sheet system is working so well allowing to prepare the appropriate amount of food and prevent excess waste. Thanks for all who helped with this system. You just have to jot your name down on the sheet and pay when you arrive at the event. The HOA General Meeting is coming up on November 4 and you all will meet the candidates for the 2015 Board of Directors. Thank all of you who have supported your HOA this past year. The Board represents the residents in the Village. For those of you who are going North or coming South to have holidays with family---SAFE TRAVELS, That is it for now from the Island. Children’s Christmas Program Many thanks to all of you who have already sponsored children this year—so far nineteen children will be very happy on Christmas morning, thanks to you. We still have children waiting! Please let us know if you would like to help. Last year our residents of Crystal River Village sponsored 37 deserving children and gave each of them a wonderful Christmas! We have a fact sheet with all the information regarding each child, with his or her favorite color, interest, as well as sizes and most needed and most wanted items. This is not meant as a shopping list, just suggestions. It is fun to shop for these children—or find a friend to go Christmas shopping with you! It’s hard to believe there are so many families in Citrus Count needing help for their children at Christmas. Many families who are struggling to put food on the table or keep the electric turned on—have no money to buy toys or any presents for their children for Christmas. If you are interested in helping, please let us know…Mary and Lee Stiles (564-0391). Many thanks from Ginger West, Director, and all the volunteers at the Family Resource Center. October Rent Committee Report The Rent Committee met on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and discussed the following topics: Diapers continue to be a major problem with damage to the lift station that has cost the owners of the village excessive expense in the thousands of dollars! Please don't place diapers down your bathroom toilets! The pool heater and pool cover goes on the first Monday in November; The Whitehurst family will be giving us money to go toward our Thanksgiving Dinner. Thank you so much; we really appreciate it The ladies bathroom redo for handicap accessibility will take place in November Gentle Reminders Please do not put diapers and other non-biodegradable items into your sewer system. Beginning January 2015, residents will no longer be able to put glass into your recycle bins. Please look both ways when backing or pulling out of driveways and look both ways before pulling away from a stop sign. We have had numerous near misses and close calls by residents not heeding to this courtesy. Please stop at the stop signs and be aware of the speed limit in the park. Continue to be aware of the parking situation. Parking on the sidewalks can damage them due to the weight of the vehicle. Parking in empty lots or on the grassy areas in front of your lot can damage any underground pipes from the weight of the vehicle. Any resident in the Village can volunteer for any event. You need not be a member of the HOA to help with a party, dinner, or any festivity. The only exception is Bingo, which is governed by the state of Florida. For Bingo, you need to be an HOA member to call, collect money, etc. Submit newsletter information and articles by the 23 rd of each month to: Gary Ammerman, Editor *Email: [email protected] *Address: 1550 SE Niko Terrace *Telephone: 352-586-8133 Sun Monday November 2014 Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday 1-10 am2 3 4 -8:45 am-Bone Builders -8 am-Men’s Breakfast -10 an-Line Dance-Beg -10:30am-Line Dance (Ladies Included) -8:45 am-Bone Builders -8 am-Aluminum -10 am-Bible Study Cans at Curb -10 am-Shuffleboard -1 pm-Bridge -10 am-Painting -1 pm-Dominos -7 pm-Men’s Pool Group 7 pm-HOA Gen.
