prevent accidents from happening and we want
people to learn from their mistakes. People to
make connections ad leadership, people to show
teamwork and people to be happy, people to enjoy
their drive there. What do these things have in
common? Roller land! Off campus program that
will be fun, diverse and will prevent cliques from
happening
3. Q&A :
a. how many residents?
i. 36
b. How many people are interested in going?
i. We are positive that our waiting list
and list will fill up since last time they
filled up within our day.
c. How many ra’s? will be coming?
i. 2-3 plus our ARD or RD
d. How will transportation work?
i. Students will carpool and also can
ride the max.
e. There would be 40 people for 280, why not
take the extra 4 people?
i. The deal is a full commitment and
therefore the rink would close for just
the Braiden community, people from
the other halls can join Braiden hall
and pay for their own.
ii. Tasha: Because we have to pay for the
event ahead of time, making a
reservation ahead of time might be
beneficial.
f. Does knowing this information change your
decision?
i. We could change it if you guys would
like us to, but we would prefer to keep
it as is.
g. You mentioned leadership, how do you plan
to include this?
i. People
h. Bronson proposed friendly amendment to
change the bill to make the 36 students to
40.
i. Amendment was denied.
4. Discussion:
a. Braiden appreciates and thinks the bill is
thoughtful and valuable
b. Parmelee thinks it is very well thoughtout
c. Towers agrees and thinks the program was
enthusiastically planned, which is important
for programs for students that require
community, even though there is lack of
advertisement
d. Braiden is confident that transportation will
be not a problem neither will advertisement
e. Academic village thinks that is important
and notable that they choose to keep it for
college night to include the rest of the
community
f. Newsome thinks that the intention of this
bill seems solely to be to skate, and only
serves connection not so much the
leadership pillar as mentioned. Macie
includes that the bill does mention that these
four RA’s are in a committee whose
requirement was to make a connections
event.
g. Bill was passed 6-1-1
iii. Bill 1646
1. Reading of the bill: waived
2. Presentation: Sage, an RA in Parmelee . March
23rd includes transportation that is estimated 30
min to gather everyone and allow people to get in
the shuttles. We are planning to get there at 8pm
and be back by 9:30. Hall council is providing
transportation funding for the vans, 4 RA’s will be
going as drivers. Residents in the RA halls will
have priority for a day or two and then it will open
for the rest of the Parmelee. Heavily advertising
for this event on both sides of the halls. There will
be a waiting list incase people cannot make it. The
driver of the 4th van will be from the north side to
also provide info for others.
3. Q&A’s
a. How much is actually being requested from
RHA?
i. 576 dollars. We got a deal on college
night to make the entrance tickets
cheaper.
b. We group rates looked at?
i. A lot of the deals were mainly dietary
specials and we didn’t want to expand
the time to make sure we were being
respectful of people times.
4. Discussion
a. Braiden loves and that they went to their hall
council to ask for funding and that they
worked with their hall council.
b. Point of clarification how much money do
they need
i. 576 dollars
c. Will the money be only for admissions
d. Academic village is concerned about the
price and the value of the program due to it
being later in the semester and there could
be different ways to have a connections
program that is cheaper
e. Newsom thinks that since it is right after
spring break there would be a reconnect and
allow for “end of the year” thing with a
month left.
f. Braiden thinks that this is not only
reinforcement In community but also
because this is a popular event since it was
successful in braiden hall, is also provides
stress relieving since there are a lot of tests
that will be coming
g. Passed. 5-1- 2
iv. Bill 1647
1. Reading of the bill: waived.
2. Presentation by Bailey. ICA ctmo carnival open to
residents advertised heavily for residents. Bill is
for the tie die shirts. We have 100 shirts and a few
others that are larger sizes. If we do not end up
using all the shirts there is an event in the fall that
could be used then. We are requesting the shirts to
allow for more participation in the entire carnival
3. Q&A:
a. Will there be a program along with the tie
die shirts.
i. There is a carnival every spring
within the CTMO, that teaches
students about consent it is a carnival,
there will be games, a punch card to
ensure they go through the program
and learn about consent and then they
will be able to go to make t-shirts
after they have completed all the
activities.
b. So to clarify the money will be going to only
t-shirts?
i. Yes only to t-shirts since ICA funds
are funding the rest of the carnival.
c. Discussion
i. Maddie: Newsome thinks this is a
perfect bill because there was a lot of
thought into the event a
ii. Academic village thinks it’s great
because consent is always needed to
talk about
iii. Braiden: agrees social justice pillar is
filled.
iv. Passed 8-0-0.
