Spanish play at Tudor Hall!
A group of students visited Tudor Hall last week to watch a
Spanish play called ¿Cuántos me gusta tienes? The play
was a comedy about a boy called Alejandro who finds
himself in hospital after a slight accident. As he’s not getting
much attention he starts to use Facebook to exaggerate his
condition, and suddenly he receives visits from concerned
school friends. One of the parts was improvised brilliantly by Jonathan,
who was asked to join the actors on stage. He was not at all daunted by
having to reply to the actors in Spanish! Charliewas also asked to go
on stage to speak Spanish and hold up a banner, and she spoke very clearly
and smiled the whole way
through!
The students really enjoyed
themselves and many understood
more than they thought they
would!

perform their poetry and talk about their process of writing. Students
also listened to sessions from a senior examiner who explained how
to tackle an unseen poem and how to
compare poems effectively. We all enjoyed
John Agard’s performance of ‘Checkin’ Out
Me History’ and ‘Half-Caste’.
Year 8 Parents’ Evening – Thursday 16 March 2016
We look forward to seeing you at our forthcoming Year 8 parents’ evening
on Thursday 16 March 4pm – 6.30pm in the Buttery/Library. As last year we
are continuing to operate a non-appointment system.
The Year 8 progress data will be distributed on your arrival, so you may like
to allow extra time to sit and read the report before you speak to the subject
teachers. Your child’s exercise books and folders will also be available for
you to look at and discuss with teachers.
First of all, we met everybody that was taking part, there were
students from 3 local schools who were training with us NOA, Warriner
and BGN. We did a few games at the start of the session to get to
know each other. We then got into the training and watched some
videos such as, a boy being bullied and how he overcame this. We
also had training on listening and how to give the right advice.
The purpose of the Defend Against Bullying (DAB) is to help people
who are being bullied and feel like no one is there. Some year 10’s
(Ellie– Mae, Ella, Jemma, Natalia and Sophie) have volunteered to run
this. This will be happening on the 3rd March during lunch time, in Mrs
Tribe’s room.(E5)
