What do we mean by development results and what information do we need?
This opening session seeks to provide insight into the practical definition of results from
different perspectives, with the aim to create common understanding of what results need to
be communicated. It focuses on the related question what information is required, and from
whom to communicate these results. Three speakers will discuss these questions from the
perspective of the public (a member of parliament), a high-level policy maker (Joint Venture
delegate from a ministry or agency) and a development communicator.
10:30 – 11:00 The presentations will be followed by a facilitated discussion of the different perspectives.

what way does results based management interlink with communication? Participants will
take a closer look at what information is needed, and from whom, and what kind of
information can be delivered by results based management. Participants will also consider
whether the way results were achieved should also be explained, with budget support as a
case in point.
