Ø additionofanew22,400horsepowercompressorunitattheexistingHancockCompressorStationin
DelawareCounty,NY
Ø installationof7.3milesofnew36-inchpipelineparalleltoMillennium’sexisting24-inchlinebetween
theHuguenotandWesttownmeterstationsinOrangeCounty,NY
TheprocesswassetintomotiononJanuary19,2016whenMillenniumfiledaRequestforPre-FilingReview
withtheFederalEnergyRegulatoryCommission(FERC).Theproject’sPre-filingdocketnumberisPF16-3.
Millenniumhasalreadytakenstepstoadvancetheirnewconstruction—includingpurchasingnecessaryland,
conductinginitialstakeholderconsultations,andpre-filingtheirproposalwithFERC.Thecompanyhaslaidout
theirintendedtimelinegoingforward(seebelow),whichincludesthesubmissionoftheirofficialapplication
toFERCinJuly2016andconstructionbeginninginSeptember2017.
TheproposednewcompressorstationwouldbelocatedinEldred,
ahamletoftheTownofHighlandinSullivanCounty,NYequidistant
fromtheexistingHancock(DelawareCounty)andMinisink
CompressorStations(OrangeCounty).Millenniumhasalready
purchased80acresoftheEldredPreserve,alongstateRoute55,
forthispurpose.Thecompanyhasindicatedthattheyintendto
buildthecompressorstationonthesouthwestcornerofthe
property.ThismapisadaptedfromMillennium’sRequestforPreFilingReview,andshowsthelocationoftheproposedcompressor
stationandpotentialaccessroad.
AboutMillennium:TheMillenniumPipelineCompanyisatthe
heartoftheproposedcompressorstation.Millennium,also
responsiblefortheHancockandMinisinkCompressorStations,
doesnothaveagoodtrackrecordinSullivanandneighboring
counties.IntheTownofHancock,Millenniumacquiredthe
propertythatwaseventuallyusedfortheircompressorstation
ProposedCompressorStation
aftertheirpipelineexpansionactivitiesdamagedthefoundation
andsepticsystemofthepreviousowner’shouse.InMinisink,negativehealthimpactsfromcompressor
