Connects The Edison School April 2016 Rebeckah Dopp, Head of School Ultimate Grill Champ a Big Success For those of you who attended our Spring Fundraiser, you know there was something for everyone. If you loved to shop, our vendors provided an amazing array of goods. Edison’s bake sale table satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth. The silent auction items providing some of the best deals of the day from airline tickets to anywhere in the U.S. to a baseball lover’s delight, a fun-in-the-sun basket and a Star Wars extravaganza. Everyone loved the bar-b-que provided by Shane’s and the music was outstanding. Hendersonville High School was well-represented with the band Feedback and 10 Piece Brass band. Outside the main stage featured Clink Park, Payton and Taryn and Annie Gavin and the Boys. The smell of grilling burgers was ridiculous and whetted our appetites. The kids had a blast jumping around in the bounce house donated by Hoppity Hop. Andre Anderson brought his bubble machine and the Gallatin Fire Department sent out not one, but two fire trucks. We had even more fun finding deals at the yard sale set up next to Lisa’s Kettle Korn truck. The smell of funnel cakes and kettle corn was too much for the senses. It was a tremendous group effort from the good folks at the Sumner Teen Center to all the people who volunteered from Edison. • $18,850 was raised! • Jeff Hite, second photo from top is 2016 Grill Champ! 2100 B Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066 • www.theedisonschool.com • 615.431.5637 Movie Night Celebrates the End of Testing Bring out your sleeping bags, air mattresses, lawn chairs and jumbo popcorn buckets because it’s Movie Night at The Edison School. Graduating 8th Graders Have This to Say What will you miss most about The Edison School? “The people.” “My friends.” “Technology. I love all the technology.” What did you learn about yourself while attending TES? “I learned that I have the determination to do things if I try.” “I don’t have to be afraid of people anymore.” “I learned I’m great at working with little kids.” If you could design a T-shirt just for Edison what would it say? “BYOW...Bring Your Own Weird.” Office Assistant Ginny Gauerke, left and office volunteer Connie Telesco, right were honored for Administrative Assistant day.
