4th Grade Volunteer Sign-Up Form
Please put an “x” next to any event for which you wish to volunteer. Please
also place an “x” next to “Chair” if you are willing to chair the event (organize
the other volunteers). If you have a preference, circle the item(s) you wish to
provide.
Example: Parent wants to chair camping trip and supply some juice boxes

Parents needed to supply water, juice boxes and individually wrapped snack items
for 2 days. Supplies need to be brought to school no later than September 28.
**Set Up involves pre-plating the snacks in Mrs. Romeu’s classroom for easy distribution to
the kids. There are 41 children in the 4th grade**
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE CHILDREN WITH NUT ALLERGIES, SO PLEASE
MAKE SURE THAT ANY SNACK YOU MIGHT PROVIDE IS TOTALLY NUT-FREE.
All School Fall Festival – October 2nd – 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Parents are needed to help out at the 4th grade craft table. Please sign up for 30-minute
slots. We probably need 3 parents at each time:

Camping Trip – October 4 – October 6

Parents are needed to supply water, juice boxes and individually wrapped snack
items for 46 people (41 students and 5 teachers). The science teachers have requested 34 drinks and 3-4 snacks per person. Supplies need to be brought to school no later than
Thursday, 9/30 and may be taken directly to the science room. Also, the teachers have
requested that you do not send in snacks exclusively for your child. The teachers want to
promote group bonding and unity in every respect, including food. If your child has special
dietary concerns, please speak with your child’s teacher.
Halloween – 10/29

The parade is at 8:30 AM. Parents are needed for set up and clean up in Mrs.
Romeu’s classroom and to provide decorations, paper goods, juice, water, and snacks
(fresh fruit, bagels, spreads, mini muffins) for a celebration following the parade. We need
to pre-plate the snacks for easy distribution to the kids. If anyone could lend us special
Halloween themed items for the décor, we would greatly appreciate them and the kids will
love it!
4th Grade Parent Social (November 13 – Timmons House)

Parents are needed for set up, clean up, optional decorations, flowers and anything
else (music) to make a great evening for us all. Dinner will be “pot-luck” style. Parents can
bring a dinner item, beverage, paper goods, décor items, etc….
4th Grade Play November 23, 8:30AM

Parents are needed to help with set up, clean up, paper goods, snacks and drinks for a
“cast party”. Parents are also needed to help make costumes.
Lower School Winter Concert and holiday party – December 17th 1:00 PM

Parents are needed for set up and clean up and to provide paper goods, juice, water
and snacks (fresh fruit, bagels, spreads, mini muffins, etc…) for refreshments following the
concert. The parents will set up and clean up a buffet in Mrs. Romeu’s classroom with the
snacks pre-plated for easy distribution to the kids.
Valentine’s Day Bake Sale February 14th2011

Parents are needed to help with set up and clean up and to provide paper goods
and beverages to go with snacks purchased at the Bake Sale. If your child wishes to give
out Valentine’s Day cards, the teachers ask that a card be given to all the children (41
cards). Also, the children should bring in money if they wish to purchase items at the bake
sale this day.
4th Grade Mask Celebration – May 4th 2011
Parents are needed to provide paper goods, drinks and ethnic food used on the cultures
studied. Parents are also needed for set up and clean up for this reception, which will be
held in the Middle School at 8:30 a.m. The Mask celebration enhances the students’ study
of ancient cultures. The art teachers create masks with the children and they present these
masks at Balderston Commons. We need creative family members to make recipes out of
their comfort zone!
Sundae Challenge Party – Date TBD

This party only occurs if the kids all pass the multiplication challenge. Parents are
needed to provide paper goods, beverages, ice cream and toppings. Parents will also be
needed for set up and clean up.
Lower School Spring Concert – May 27th 2011

Parents are needed for set up and clean up a buffet in Mrs. Romeu’s classroom and
to provide paper goods, juice, water, and snacks (fresh fruit, bagels, spreads, mini muffins,
etc…) for a post-concert reception. The snacks will be pre-plated for easy distribution to
the kids.
Color Day – May 27th, 2011(1PM)

June 6 – 4th and 5th Grade Water Park Trip

The 4th and 5th grade will enjoy an adventure at an indoor water park. There is no
need for family involvement. We will check whether a snack for the bus or a cake is
needed from the parents.
Economics Sale – June 7 at 8:10 AM

Parents needed to come in at drop off to purchase a product manufactured and
marketed by the children during a unit on Economics (to ensure all items are purchased).
Helping Hands
We are looking for a core group of volunteers who can be counted on to generally
help out throughout the year. They will help when there are gaps in volunteering (if they
are available) or as needs arise throughout the year.
