Flower – Yellow, small, not
showy, in 3 inch long spikes.
Fruit – Legume; tan; coiled and
twisted like an ear, to 4 inches long.
Form – Monoecious, evergreen tree;
rounded; medium texture.
Leaf – Does not have true
leaves, but flattened petioles
called phyllodes. Phyllodes:
alternate, 6 inches long,
curved-oblong, resembling
flattened bananas or ears.
