Master Sergeant Shamar V. Jones is an Authorized
Service Interruptions Manager for Defense
Information Systems Agency, Joint Base Pearl
Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. In this position, he serves
as PACOM J6 principle ASI advisor and oversees
85% of the Department of Defense Information
Network $5.3 billion cyber resources. He manages
and directs Pacific Defense Information System
Networks, with over 20,000 interconnecting Global
Information Grid circuits traversing 265 sites.
Finally, Sergeant Jones distributes ASI program
guidance to over 2,000 field personnel through 265
sites and six Facility Control Offices covering 105
million square miles.
Master Sergeant Jones has been awarded with a
Community College of the Air Force Associates
Degree in Electronic Systems, a Bachelors in
Information Technology Management,
Professional Manager Certification, 14 Cyber
certification, and currently 16 hours from
completing his Master’s degree in Cyber Security
and Information Assurance. He was raised in
Thomasville, Alabama, and entered the Air Force
in September 1998. His background includes
several aspects of computer, network, and
information security technologies.
