I met two cowboys in Luckenbch from Wyoming,
They came down to Texas and were just roaming.
I asked them, “What are you cowboys doing way down here?”
They said, “We are seeing Texas and drinking cold beer”.
Colemun mostly shoed horses to make a buck,
And he rode in the rodeos to try out his luck.
His young body had bruises that he could not hide,
One time he got hurt and for a moment he died.
Then there was Luke who also lived the cowboy way,
But, he worked in the oilfield to supplement his pay.
I knew these men were not fake they were the real deal,
They bunked at my cabin and we drank and eat a meal.

Next morning they loaded up and disappeared out of sight,
Our paths may never cross again, but again they just might.
This was their first time to Luckenbach and this is a fact,
They will never forget it and someday they will be back.
Colemun and Luke, I wrote you men this little rhyme,
Now Cowboy-up and never stop living one day at a time.
