Tuesday May 10, 2016 Dear State Sporting Associations, The Prime Minister’s Olympic Dinner is being held on June 18, 2016 at the Melbourne Convention Centre. The dinner is the major fundraiser for the Rio 2016 Australian Olympic Team. Peter Jones from Peter Jones Special Events is the Event Producer and as part of the event proceedings we require to source 100 (volunteer) athletes over 15 years of age (due to working with children laws) to participate in the formalities, event details follow below. We will have more than 1,300 corporate guests and Olympians at the dinner. I would really appreciate you advising if any of your athletes are interested in assisting. We welcome 10-20 athletes per sport but additional athletes are welcome. In acknowledgement for their support we will present each athlete with a signed card from Olympians in attendance. Part 1 – Requirements: To form a guard of honour for the guests to walk through holding the flags of the countries participating in the Olympic Games. The preferred drop-off/pick-up point is adjacent to the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf at 1 Convention Centre Place. South Wharf Retail Car Park (outdoor) entry off Normanby Road (P1) at a flat rate of $10 after 6pm. Melbourne Exhibition Centre (undercover) entry and exit off Normanby Road (P2) at a flat rate of $20.
