These instructions are applicable for installation and registration of Product
Library of Lumon Oy. Product Library works as independent application in
Windows 64-bit environment and together with AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD
software. Required version of AutoCAD software is version 2013 or newer.
Note! Installation requires Administrative rights.
1. Download installation package
Download installation package from address:
http://www.prodlib.com/downloads/Lumon_ProdLib_Setup.zip
Installation package will be downloaded to default download folder.
2. Installation
Unzip downloaded *.zip file to your computer. Once unzipped, start the installation by
double clicking ”ProdLibSetup.exe” file located in unzipped folder.
Note! If you are not logged in as administrator, start installation by clicking the
ProdLibSetup.exe with right mouse button and select option “run as administrator”

Start installation and follow instructions on screen.

After successful installation notification will be prompted ”Installation completed”.

After installation new ProdLib icon will appear to Windows notification area (Typically in
right bottom corner)

3. Registering application
After installation, application must be register by end user and download usable content.
Once installed, ”ProdLib Library Manager” window will appear. Move to tab “Available
libraries” and select option “Install” for required content.

Once selected ”install” for first time, registration window will appear. Select “Register” and
fill up required information.

Once form is filled and sent, automatic reply will be sent to provided e-mail address.
Open the e-mail and activate your user account from the link in e-mail. Once activation
has been confirmed, you can proceed by logging in (picture 10).
Note! In case you don’t receive the activation e-mail with in few minutes, please check
the spam e-mail box in case that automatic activation mail got filtered as spam.

4. Content download
After successful registration, user must approve EULA agreement. Once approved,
application starts to download manufacturer specific content. Depending on speed of
network connection, download can take 2-10 minutes. Once content is downloaded,
application is ready to be used.

5. Usage
Application can be used as standalone version, or with AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT
software. Usage in all environments is described in this chapter.
5.1
Usage as standalone version
Standalone application can be used browse between products and to open product
specific technical documents. Easiest method is to create a manufacturer specific
shortcut to desktop. To create a shortcut, do as follows:
Start ProdLib Library manager [1] by clicking ProdLib icon in Windows notification area
[2], and select Browse libraries

From opening view move the mouse on top pf required manufacturer, click with right
mouse button and select “add shortcut to desktop”.

5.2
Usage with AutoCAD
When AutoCAD is used with ribbon menu system, product library is visible directly in
AutoCAD menu. Select tab “ProdLib and start manufacturer product library from
manufacturer’s logo.

product library, browse between products and insert required directly to drawing by
selecting “insert”.
5.3
Usage with AutoCAD LT and with AutoCAD Classic
menu system.
When used with AutoCAD LT or with AutoCAD classic menu system, product library is
used as separate standalone application.
Start application by selecting ProdLib from notification area (as described in 5.1) and
select option “insert to CAD”

Select required detail/view from product library and select ”insert”. AutoCAD will
automatically activate after selection.

In AutoCAD define insertion point and scaling in x- and y-direction (scaling factor in both
directions is 1).
6. Product library updates
When connected to internet, ProdLib application checks automatically that used content
in product library is up to date. If new content is available, automatic notification will
appear in Windows notification area: ”There is new content available”.
To start library update, open ”Library manager”. If there is new content available or
updates to existing ones, “update” button is visible in view. To start library update, simply
select the ”update” button. Once selected, latest version of content is downloaded to
computer.

It is also possible to force library update, if suspected that there has been some issues in
content downloads etc. Start update by selecting “force update of this library”
