THE GALLERY
Powerful experiences take shape when art meets architecture.
Designed by world-renowned, Toronto-born architect Frank Gehry, the AGO is Gehry’s first building in Canada and
marks the very place where he made the initial connection between art and architecture. Hallmarks of his AGO design,
which include dramatic sculptural staircases, the warmth of Douglas fir and the extensive use of glass that infuses
the galleries with natural light, connect the city and the Gallery in provocative ways.
With a permanent collection of more than 80,000 works of art, the AGO is among the most distinguished art museums
in North America. From the outstanding works featured in the Thomson Collection to the comprehensive works offered
in the Canadian, European and contemporary collections, there is something for everyone at the AGO.
As you will discover, the AGO is an extraordinary home for
extraordinary art and extraordinary entertaining.

Main Floor | Walker Court
Iconic Walker Court has been carefully restored back to its earlier grandeur and is anchored by a wood-panelled,
serpent-like staircase, which winds through a light-filled glass ceiling. The original heart of the AGO, Walker Court
rests at the centre of the building.
Offering more than 4,000 sq.ft., the court allows for a reception-style event for up to 450 guests or an intimate
120-person dinner. The court is perfect for any after Gallery hours event and can be reserved in tandem with
any other space.
Third Floor | Baillie Court
As the Gallery’s main function space, Baillie Court features Douglas fir finishes and select pieces of
masterful artwork. The light-filled room offers an extraordinary space that can accommodate a range
of event styles. Panoramic south-facing views of the city skyline offer an inspiring setting for an artistic
corporate event or a special celebration.
Located on the third floor of the Gallery, Baillie Court is accessed either via private elevators or the
majestic spiral staircase from the second floor. The space offers soundproof retractable air walls that
divide the room into three separate and distinct areas. A custom-designed ceiling grid houses a range
of lighting, sound and other in-house features.
Second Floor | Galleria Italia
Noted for its unrivalled architecture, this light-filled sculpture promenade offers a journey through
the building while being surrounded by some of the most stunning exhibitions. Galleria Italia
simultaneously offers a quiet reprieve for Gallery guests and a chance to enjoy powerful
connections to art and a picturesque view of Toronto.
Located on the second floor of the Gallery and overlooking Dundas Street, Galleria Italia provides
a breathtaking backdrop for wedding photos and an incomparable atmosphere for receptions.
Concourse Level | Seminar Rooms
Bring insight and creativity to your next meeting or group gathering in the spacious and glass-enclosed meeting
rooms. Located within the concourse level of the Gallery, the Weston Family Learning Centre offers three separate
and unique professional seminar rooms with fully integrated technology.
All three rooms can be catered from the in-house kitchen and have built-in projectors, screens, audio and
Internet services.
Concourse Level | Jackman Hall
With its own private foyer, an entrance located off McCaul Street and seating for 200 persons, plus accessible
seating, Jackman Hall is the perfect auditorium for corporate presentations, speaking engagements,
intimate screenings and small-scale performances.
The theatre is equipped with a 16mm and 35mm film projector, a digital projector, DVD and Blu-Ray players,
a sizeable stage and a podium with a microphone. Rental of the hall includes a theatre attendant, an AV technician
and use of existing furniture inventory for foyer needs.
Main Floor | Sculpture Atrium
The Sculpture Atrium is located to the north of Walker Court and is connected to the original south-facing Grange
building. Beautiful, elongated glass windows flood the space with natural light, and elevators are located close by,
to whisk guests to contemporary galleries. Perfect for smaller catered events, the area allows guests to enjoy a
historic space within the Gallery.
Main Floor | Norma Ridley Members’ Lounge
Normally available to AGO members only, the redesigned Norma Ridley Members’ Lounge offers a relaxing haven
during visits to the Gallery, as well a chance to reconnect with The Grange, the Gallery’s historic first home.
The lounge has an eclectic ambiance, featuring contemporary Danish furnishings amidst the classic setting of
The Grange. For those hosting smaller groups and seeking an unforgettable experience, the lounge can be reserved
after Gallery hours for private receptions and dinners.
Main Floor | FRANK Restaurant
FRANK, the AGO's restaurant, is a distinct Frank Gehry-designed space. Its casual-chic decor includes
modern Danish furnishings and a contemporary installation of artist Frank Stella's work. The cuisine reflects
our local Canadian heritage with global influences in cooking style and flavour.
FRANK welcomes up to 100 guests for private receptions or 60 guests for private seated dining for both social
and corporate functions. Semi-private dining is also available upon request.
