welcome
Coming to a new church can be stressful. Whatever your background, we welcome you
here. We hope you experience both the warmth of our church family and the wonder of
God’s presence. Join us for coffee after the service in our Connecting Center and pick up
some information about our programs at our Welcome Center in the lobby. And please
fill out a welcome card and place it in the offering plate or basket in the lobby.
Parents: Children ages K thru 5th grade begin in the service and will be dismissed before
the message.

worship
When it comes to worship, we all have different expectations. What you can expect
to experience today is 25 minutes of singing songs, scripture readings and prayers, about
5 minutes of updating you what’s going on in the life of our church, an offering where we
give to the work of God (but as guests, please feel no obligation to give) and about
a 30 minute message from God’s Word. Once a month we also celebrate the Lord’s
Supper together. Our hope is that through the words, songs, prayers and message, you
will experience the grace and goodness of Jesus.
First Sunday Prayer will meet next Sunday in the Fireside Room from 8:55 - 9:15 AM.

Big Gnarly BBQ Sign Ups Start Today!
It’s finally here - this year’s Big Gnarly BBQ is July 24, and sign ups start today for you to be a part of this
exciting annual event as we reach out to love and serve our community. There are all kinds of things to sign
up for: items to loan, donations needed, and lots of opportunities to volunteer time. We’ll need volunteers
to distribute door hangers 2 weeks ahead, and then there are slots for set up, games, serving and grilling
food, and tear down. See Brenda and Jenelle in the Connecting Center today to see how you can help!
Coffee Ministry Help Needed in July & August
If you enjoy having coffee on Sundays, we’d love your help. Please stop by the café today (in the Connecting
Center) to sign up for coffee prep or coffee clean up on Sundays. Dan and Julie Scott will get in touch with
you with the details for your Sunday. Thank you in advance!

first Sunday prayer
Please join us next Sunday from 8:55-9:15 AM in the Fireside Room for our First Sunday Prayer, where we
pray for our church and our various ministries. Even if you only have a few minutes, join us as we ask God
to do great things we cannot do on our own. If you are interested in joining us regularly this summer, we
meet every Sunday from 8:45-9:15 in the Fireside Room for pre-service prayer.
mission focus
We praise God for the ministry of John and Polly Reiser in Taiwan. They are asking prayer for a small
group that is just starting up in their church. Pray for the core group to have boldness in inviting new
people to the group, and for the new ones to feel welcome in the group. And pray for several members
of the group to step up to help in different areas of responsibility, being willing to recognize and use the
giftings they have received from the Lord to love and encourage others.
Weekly prayer guides are available at the Welcome Center. We also have a prayer group that receives
updates via email at least once a week. Email the church office if you would like to be added to the group.
School Supply Drive
Can you believe it’s already that time again? We are collecting specific school supplies and backpacks to put
together for our neighbors at Sarah Milner; the filled backpacks will go to students in need. Stop by the table
in the Connecting Center today to see what you can do to help fill these packs! Donations are due July 31.
August 11-12: Leadership Summit
One of the best things we can do for ourselves is to develop ourselves. Call it a gift to yourself and those that
you lead. The Global Leadership Summit is one of the best opportunities around to do this. It is for both
church and business leaders. It's accessible, affordable, and world class. We'd love for you to come. Give
yourself a gift. To register, contact Stephanie Francis: [email protected] or 667-4730.
August 13: Annual Golf Tournament
Our tournament this year is on August 13. Sign up today in the Connecting Center to participate! It will be a
4 person scramble and includes 18 holes, golf cart, lunch, and prizes. Participants must sign up by July 23.
Cost is $75 and must be paid by July 31.
Your Giving is Life Giving!
Thank you to all who have contributed to our Kids Hope Camp Scholarship fund. Through your generosity,
7 of our friends from Sarah Milner Elementary were able to experience the love of Christ in very tangible,
fun-filled ways as they participated in a week of adventure at Covenant Heights this past June. Their stories
are fabulous. Special memories made. Thanks for Sharing God’s Hope through your giving!
LifeSpring’s Scripture Quilt Ministry
We are in need of 100% cotton fabric donations. We make and gift lap quilts with Bible scriptures to friends
and family going through serious medical journeys such as cancer. In the past year we have gifted more than
30 quilts to people in need of God’s love. Please contact Cathy Sipes (663-3746) or Pam Courtney (619-0988)
if you’d like to make a donation or learn more about this ministry.
Do you receive our Friday email?
LifeSpring sends out an email every Friday with a note from Pastor Scott and details on upcoming events in
the life of our church. If you don’t already receive this weekly email, we’d love to add you to our list! Email
