annual Jersey Youth Assembly.
QUESTIONS
Senator Ian Gorst, the Chief Minister, answered a question (on behalf of the Minister for
External Relations) asked by Daniella Gingell of Jersey College for Girls regarding promoting
the Island’s image internationally.
Deputy Rod Bryans of St. Helier, the Assistant Minister for Education, Sport and Culture,
answered a question asked by Matthieu Corley of Hautlieu regarding improvements to
recreational facilities for young people.
Deputy Anne Pryke of Trinity, the Minister for Health and Social Services, answered a
question asked by Nanneke Boxall of Jersey College for Girls regarding the management of
mental health services.
Senator Francis Le Gresley, the Minister for Social Security, answered a question asked by
Daisy Letch of Hautlieu regarding youth employment.
Deputy Kevin Lewis of St. Saviour, the Minister for Transport and Technical Services,
answered a question asked by Fraser Burrough of Victoria College regarding driving tests for
the over 50’s.
Deputy James Baker, Assistant Minister for Economic Development, answered a question
asked by Max Thompson of Victoria College regarding plans to create a deep water marina.

Bullying in secondary schools
THE ASSEMBLY rejected a proposition of Rowan Pilley of Jersey College for Girls that
students should be held legally responsible for bullying in secondary schools.

Mental health provision for teenagers
THE ASSEMBLY, adopting a proposition of William Romeril of Hautlieu, agreed that there
should be easier and more direct access to help for teenagers concerned with mental health
issues.

Grading Islanders to determine their social position
