Butterfly Rainforest
Come face-to-face with hundreds of living
butterflies in the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit,
set among tropical plants, trees and nectar
flowers to support 60 to 80 different species
of Lepidoptera at any given time. The public
exhibits gallery showcases more than
Sister Hazel 13,000 preserved and photographed
butterfly and moth specimens.

their old stomping grounds to perform the
band’s exceptional blend of alternative rock,
folk and southern rock.

from the Photography Collection: Portfolios,
which features works by Jerry Uelsmann,
Elliot Erwitt, Ken Josephson and Mark Klett,
among others. The exhibition includes more
than a dozen portfolios and examines the
El Anatsui, Old Man’s Cloth, 2003, reasons that artists are attracted to this
aluminum and copper wire
format. Admission is free.

Examine works by University of
Florida School of Art and
Art History faculty in
the 45th Annual Art
Faculty Exhibition.
Held every five years, this exhibition
features works created in an impressive
range of media, including drawing, painting,
photography, printmaking, sculpture,
ceramics, electronic media, installation
and video. Admission is free.
Please note that the Florida Museum
of Natural History will be closed for a
private event Friday, November 6.

Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes &
Other Riches
October 3, 2009 – January 17, 2010
Visit seven ports of call along the most
biologically diverse river in the world, the
Amazon, where you’ll encounter piranhas,
anacondas, stingrays and mysterious pink
dolphins. Explore the Amazon through
hands-on activities, computer interactives,
live fish and original artifacts. This interactive,
bilingual exhibition, developed by the Miami
Museum of Science & Planetarium, is
designed for everyone, especially families
with children.

and social challenges of our time. Art, Media
and Material Witness: Contemporary Art
