May 25 We invite you to attend our Ascension Day service! Ascension Day is Thursday, May 25, and our service begins at 7PM. Our pastor, Rev. Audred Spriensma, will bring us God’s word about Christ’s ascension into heaven and its significance for His people, based on Ephesians 4:8-10 Why do we as a church have a special worship service on Ascension Day? It is the climax of the Christian holidays! We gather as Christians on Christmas, Good Friday, Easter and Ascension Day. Jesus our Savior has entered into His glory as the Great Victor! We as Chrisians will enter with Him. “Wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, and led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)” Ephesians 4: 8-10 •How and of what is Jesus the victor? •What does it mean that Jesus “led captivity captive”? •What does it mean that Jesus “gave gifts unto men”? •What does it mean that Jesus ascended up “Far above all heavens that he might fill all things”?
