Covenant is how God has chosen to communicate to us, to redeem us, and to guarantee us eternal life in Jesus. These truths, revealed in the Bible, are the basis of Christianity. The Bible is a covenant document. The Old and New Testaments are really Old and New Covenants. The word "testament" is Latin for Covenant. I just wanted to give you an update on what God is doing at MRC. Our Global Mission’s Center has been expended to reach more nations with the Good News, so that we have planned four major Mission’s Trips in the year 2014. We only have but one life to give for the Lord, as Jesus, also, had only one life to give for you. Jesus gave his life for us as he said, Greater love has no man then to lay down his life for his friends.” I like what Nathan Hale said, “I only regret that I only have one life to give for my country.” Well, I too only have one life to give for my Lord. I want to live my life for the purposes of God because my life does not belong to me. My life was bought with a price, a high price, the blood of Jesus Christ! We see in the Old Testament that Abraham used his life to become the father of our faith. Moses used his life to deliver God’s people and birth a nation. Noah used his whole life to build and Arc and see only 7 people get saved (his own family). On the other hand, we see King Saul throw his life away because he wanted to do his own plan. What was Jim Elliot thinking when he said in his journal entry for October 28, 1949, he expresses his belief that work dedicated to Jesus was more important than his life (see Luke 9:24 in the Bible). "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." What kind of life are you living today? I prayed for over a year to be able to go on a Mission’s Trip to Cuba and after a year, I got to travel to Cuba! I met new friends that had been praying for someone to come and help them. I preached in four different churches and ministered to many people while there. When I was leaving to go back home my friend Pastor Humberto said to me, “We want to be under your ministry, we want to be part of your ministry to pray for you, so whatever kind of ministry you want to do in Cuba we are your people.” It nearly knocked me down and I almost fell out of my chair! Yet, in my heart, I knew that someday something like this would happen. So we have decided to adopt the Church of Cuba and train leaders, plant churches and start a new University of Disciples School in Cuba. You know this only happens when your life is dedicated to the purposes of God. Paul said it best in Acts 20:24 “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” May the Lord continue to bless you.
