Hands Together P.O. Box 80985 Springfield, MA 01138 We Salute Matrix Development Group for donating Jumping Brook Country Club. If you can, please help us again this year! We thank all of you who so faithfully support us and we continue to work very hard in the harsh and frustrating areas of Haiti. Please consider helping us and participating in this year’s event. Our Becky DeWine school system and our 8 rural schools do not charge tuition and we need books, food, teacher salaries, water, and repairs to the buildings. Our agriculture progress fills us with hope and we want to expand our outreach to more young people and help more simple farmers. It is very costly just to keep our jeeps, trucks and water-well drilling rigs operating and we will use your donation for these things. Last year’s 2012 Golf Classic We generated more than $180,000 which directly funded several of our programs helping hte poorest of the poor. The Golf Classic is our only major fundraising event and it is very pure -- the course, dinner, and all other operating expenses are donated so thatr 100% of your donations go to our Haiti projects. How we used last year’s proceeds: • • • • • $73,000 covered salaries for 213 teachers at our Becky DeWine school for 2 months $28,000 provided the Clarke Farm with a year’s worth of seeds, farming tools, and fuel for generators, equipment and vehicles $13,000 established Project Dismas which works directly wiith young men vulneralbe toward gang life gain training, employment, education & spiritual formation $55,000 provided daily meals and literacy classes to 450 students of our Barefoot Schools for one school year $9,000 trained 170 students in our Briquette-making project, an alternative fuel initaitive which uses the plentiful garbage in Haiti’s slums to fuel stoves in school kitchens. Education,Nutrition,Charity,Agriculture We cannot overstate the tremendous generosity of Joe Taylor and Matrix Development in underwriting the use of the course and the dinner. All of your support goes directly to our programs in Haiti. Your participation provides for basic needs to the poorest of the poor in Haiti and has never been more important.
