Meet and Greet
The Chinese Praying Mantis is the largest of three
different kinds of Praying Mantids. It grows
from about 3-5 inches. The Carolina Praying
Mantis is very small it comes to about less than 2
inches.

Habitat
A Praying Mantis is usually found in warm
tropical places.
These are places that they are usually found in
deserts, grasslands, meadow lands, and a rain
forest.

Eats
Most of the Praying Mantids pray are Mosquitoes,
Flies,,Grasshoppers, Beetles, Butterflies, Moths,
Spiders, Roaches, Bees, Dragon flys, Lizards, Frogs,
Rodents, and small birds.
The Praying Mantis usually bites there prays neck's
to paralyze them, the starts eating them.

As the season changes the female mantis
layers eggs and the dies. The eggs don't
hatch until spring in daylight.

about 100-200 tiny mantids in them.

About the Author
Emma's first book was the Praying Mantis book. She has a
sister a dog and a guinea pig. She celebrates Christmas. She
also held a Praying Mantis before on the play ground I think that
is how she decided that she wanted to write a book about
Praying Mantids.
