BRAD NESSLER Play-by-Play Announcer Brad Nessler enters his third season as the play-by-play voice of NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football, joining game analyst Mike Mayock in the booth for NFL Network’s eighth season of primetime game telecasts. Nessler joined NFL Network in May 2011. A veteran play-by-play voice at both the amateur and professional level, Nessler continues in his role calling college football and basketball games for ESPN and ABC. Additionally, in 2010 and 2011, Nessler was a part of ESPN’s Monday Night Football doubleheader, calling the San Diego Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs in 2010, and the Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos in 2011. From 1992 to 1997, Nessler called college basketball games and Big Ten and Thursday night football contests for ESPN. In 1997, he began calling college football contests for ABC, including the Bowl Championship Series title game, as well as college basketball. Nessler has also been the play-by-play voice of EA Sports NCAA Football and college basketball March Madness video games. Nessler began his career as a sports anchor and talk show host for WGST-Radio in Atlanta in 1980. In 1985, he became sports director at WSB-Radio, also in Atlanta. While at the Atlanta stations, he handled radio play-by-play of Georgia Tech basketball (1980-85) and the Atlanta Falcons (1982-88) before assuming the same duty for the Minnesota Vikings on WCCO (1988-89). He has done playby-play of ACC football and basketball for Raycom/Jefferson Pilot telecasts, and did WLAF games for USA Network (1991-92). Nessler also has served as play-by-play announcer for Miami Dolphins preseason telecasts. Nessler joined CBS in 1990 and worked on college football and men’s and women’s basketball, including the NCAA Division I Women’s Championship game, and NFL games. He also was the network’s host for speed skating coverage at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, France. Since 1992, Nessler has returned each year to his hometown of St. Charles, Minn., to host The Nessler Memorial, a charity golf tournament named after his late father, Bob.
