FIRST QUARTER: Government
This unit focuses on personal accountability and how choices and actions impact our society.
During this unit scholars will learn how rules and laws play an important role in guiding
behavior, and how there are different rules for different settings.

Personal accountability includes making responsible choices, taking responsibility for
personal actions and respecting others.

THIRD QUARTER: Geography
This unit examines the relationships among people, places, and environments. During this unit
students will explore how characteristics of humans and places impact people’s work, physical
environment, and culture. Students will also be able to understand and interpret information on maps.
