Buckle Up! Your Family Is Waiting For You –
A high school student in Washington found that 10 percent
of the students driving to school were not wearing a seat
belt. She decided to tackle this issue through the
development of a year-long safe driving campaign. One
project was a three-week-long seat belt campaign called,
“Buckle Up: Your Family is Waiting for You!” The campaign resulted in increased seat belt use among fellowstudents and, by the end, 96 percent were arriving to school
protected by seat belts.
