EasiVial Polystyrene PS-L (2 mL) Standards for GPC Contents This kit contains ten of each color-coded vial (red, yellow and green). Each vial contains a mixture of four narrow polydispersity polystyrene standards (Part No. PL2010-0401). The molecular weights and masses of the polymers contained in each vial are shown on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis accompanying this pack. As supplied in the EasiVial format, the polystyrene standards are stable and do not require any special storage conditions. Also available in 4 mL vial (Part No. PL2010-0400) and Tri-Pack (90 vial) formats (Part No. PL2010-0402). Preparation for use Up to 2 mL of solvent can be added to each vial, the volume of solvent added can be chosen to give the required final polymer concentration appropriate for the application. After addition of the solvent, the polymers should be allowed to dissolve for at least one hour and the vial should be shaken gently to completely disperse the polymer solution prior to use. Once prepared in dilute solution, polystyrene standards may be susceptible to degradation and EasiVials containing the solutions should be stored in a cool, dark place and used within one week. For molecular weight (Mp) values for this kit, please refer to the lotspecific Certificate of Analysis included in this pack. Application EasiVial PS-L standards can be used for conventional GPC calibration employing a single concentration detector or for Universal Calibration using GPC-viscometry. The concentration at which the standards are prepared will depend on the dn/dc for the solvent system in use and the relative sensitivity of the detectors employed. As a guide, for use with THF, where the dn/dc=0.185 mL/g, it is recommended that 1 mL of solvent is added to the vials whereas for use with TCB, where the dn/dc=0.053 mL/g, it is recommended that 0.5 mL of solvent be added to the vials. Please note that these vials are not suitable for a PL-GPC 220 at high temperature.
