Another Congratulation to Mt. Moriah ----While the church mortgage was paid in full in 2010, the members decided
to continue their pledge campaign and report annually -and for the purpose church operations expenses. On June 22 ,
Mt. Moriah held a Family & Friends Day, the members raised $10,000. 00 at the spirited and well attended celebration.

The Midlands Baptist Youth Conference was held on July 24-25, 2014 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church on Gregg Street. The
Thursday evening session opened with seminars on basic topics of interest for youth and parents alike. Rev. Sandra McRant
facilitated the middle school session. Youth from First Nazareth participated in several seminars and games. The Garment of
Praise – Youth dancers performed during talent hour with music from Ty Tribett “If He did it before, He can do it again."
Friday's session opened with a panel discussion on the Stand your Ground Law--a law recently enacted in South Carolina and
other southern states. It has been used to decide several national cases in Florida and North Carolina. The panel consisted
of Deon O'Neal, an attorney who specializes in auto accidents and criminal defense; Beatrice Fields, a criminal investigator
with the City of Columbia Police Department, and Sgt. Gerald Walls, Richland County Sheriff Department. First Nazareth

2014—the Richland Library Friends’ Summer Learning Challenge
The Richland Library Friends’ Summer Reading Challenge encouraged children of all ages to
read their way through the summer! In addition to the reward of learning through reading,
FNBC-CDC students successfully met the challenge and earned other rewards, including an
individual medal.
