Jefferson Memorial
The Jefferson Memorial ,
honoring our third president
Thomas Jefferson, is located at
the tidal basin in Washington DC.
The colonnaded structure was
dedicated in 1943.

Monument

The 555 foot tall Washington Monument
opened in 1888. It is made of marble and
granite and inscribed on the top is the
phrase “Laus Deo” – Praise be to God.
