Many effective products are available to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) but few options to effectively remove organic sulfur molecules. ActiSorb GP 150 series was developed specifically to remove the more difficult compounds such as mercaptans and thiophenes. Several criteria should be considered when selecting a ActiSorb GP 150 series product. These include: · Inlet H2S content · Types of sulfur compounds found in the feed stream · Operating temperatures and pressures · Outlet sulfur requirement · Desired change-out frequency · Availability of hydrogen 7 PRODUCT ActiSorb GP 151 SIZE AND SHAPE DESCRIPTION 1.6 mm Tablets High activity catalyst developed to remove H2S, specifically mercaptans, disulfides, and thiophenes in gas or liquid phase streams. ActiSorb GP 152 0.5-1.4, 1.7-4.8 mm Granules Low cost, regenerable solution provides effective removal of both mercaptans and H2S at ambient temperatures. Ideal for gas and hydrocarbon streams with low to moderate sulfur levels. ActiSorb GP 153 2.5, 4.8 mm Extrusions Mixed metal oxide formulated to provide a wide range of sulfur adsorption options. ActiSorb GP 154 1.6 mm Extrusions Removes sulfur compounds, including THT, DMS, and mercaptans in natural gas, LPG, biogas, and CO2 from gas stream under ambient conditions. ActiSorb® GP 200 Series COS HYDROLYSIS The removal of carbonyl sulfide from process feed streams such as natural gas, partial oxidation gases, liquid propylene and propane, and CO2 is accomplished by several chemical reactions. Carbonyl Sulfide (COS) can be converted to hydrogen sulfide through hydrogenation via the following reaction: (1) COS + H2 <-> CO + H2S For syngas from coal and heavy hydrocarbon gasification with high concentrations of H2, CO, and H2S, the high COS equilibrium level makes hydrogenation impractical to achieve COS removal to low levels. One of the most efficient and economical methods is by hydrolysis to form hydrogen sulfide (H2S) over a suitable catalyst. This process can result in an essentially sulfur-free gas stream suitable for the synthesis of NH3, CH3OH, and synthesis gas. Via hydrolysis, COS is transformed into H2S according to the following equation: (2) COS + H2O <-> CO2 + H2S 8 PRODUCT SIZE AND SHAPE DESCRIPTION ActiSorb GP 201 3.2 mm Extrusions Formulated to convert COS to H2S in low CO, HCN, CS2 environments. The high selectivity ensures that process gases with can be treated economically. ActiSorb GP 202 3.2 mm Extrusions Formulated especially for the selective hydrolysis reaction of COS and CS2 for use with gasification gases containing high CO as well as in natural gases and liquid hydrocarbons. It is manufactured to give the optimum combination of activity, selectivity, and long life. ActiSorb GP 203 3.2 mm Extrusions Highly selective catalyst towards COS and CS2 with excellent poisoning resistance to HCN, and halogens (HCL, HF). Preferred for gas streams with low CO and H2S. ActiSorb® GP 300 Series ARSINE REMOVAL Natural gas frequently contains arsine and other arsenic compounds, such as trimethyl arsine that is not effectively removed with a traditional CuO/ZnO type sorbent. As a result, Clariant supplies a series of adsorbents for the removal of arsenic and heavy metals from natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons streams. The choice of a specific adsorbent depends on the feed stream characteristics, type of impurity to be removed, and the process conditions. 9 PRODUCT SIZE AND SHAPE DESCRIPTION ActiSorb GP 301 1.5, 3.2 mm Extrusions Recommended for the removal of As(R)3 compounds such as arsine, trimethyl arsine, and triethyl arsine. ActiSorb GP 302 6.4 x 3.2, 4.8 x 2.4 mm Tablets Proven mixed metal oxide adsorbent with good capacity used in gas phase applications. Product purity achieved depends on operating conditions and can be below the detectable limits often 10 ppb. ActiSorb GP 303 1.5, 3.2 mm Extrusions Uniquely formulated for arsine removal in liquid phase applications at ambient temperatures and all pressures. Depending on other contaminants in the stream, this product can achieve levels of less than 5 ppb. ActiSorb® GP 400 Series MERCURY REMOVAL For the application of natural gas purification, the mercury content of the gas may be reduced to less than 0.1 ppb (1 microgram/Nm3). Clariant’s mercury adsorbents represent one of the most efficient and economic mercury purification systems available. We offer a range of carbon-based and metal oxide-based adsorbents that fit many operations depending on feedstock composition, process conditions, and application.
