This guide will assist you as you measure and draw out your space. Please follow the directions below. When you are

Step 1: Drawing the Floor Plan
Let’s start drawing
- Use a straight edge to draw lines clearly
- Lengths do not need to be to scale
- Start in a corner of your kitchen and work your way around
- Windows are depicted with “ -|----|-” lines on a wall
- Doorways are depicted with the same symbols, but with
breaks in the wall “-| |-”

- Measure to the nearest quarter inch (1/4)”
- If there is a frame around the door or window, measure
outside edge to outside edge of the frame.
- If there is no frame around the door or window, measure
the opening.
- If sink, range, etc. is staying in the same location,
measure from side wall to the center point so it can be
positioned correctly.
- Measure overall dimensions to ensure that the other
dimensions add up correctly
- If cabinets are going underneath a window, make sure
the window is 36” or higher off of the finished floor level
