HOB 10th Birthday Celebrations Wednesday 24th February 2016 On Wednesday 24nd February we all enjoyed a whole school celebration for our very special 10th Birthday. This newsletter aims to share some of the highlights of our day. We started the day with a whole school assembly where we sang Happy Birthday to the school and tried to squeeze everyone in to a Birthday photo! Our youngest school pupil (Keira) and our oldest pupil (Kyle) helped to cut the birthday cake and then everyone had a piece to celebrate our special day. Our nursery boys and girls wore party clothes and played lots of party games before enjoying some birthday cake and singing together. HOB 10th Birthday Celebrations Wednesday 24th February 2016 Our popular photo booth captured some of our birthday guests – can you work out who they are? The Eco Committee house team challenge P1-4 had to make as many recycled green hearts as possible in 2 minutes – to show we love and respect the environment. House Challenge from the Rights Respecting School Committee Article for the day: Article 29 Your education should help you use and develop your talents and abilities. It should also help you learn to live peacefully, protect the environment and respect other people. 1 house point for every child who shows they understand this Article today through whatever they say, make, write or do! The Fairtrade Committee also challenged P5-7 to a Fairtrade Football Penalty Shoot Out for House Points! HOB 10th Birthday Celebrations Wednesday 24th February 2016 Ben (our current pupil) and Blair (a former pupil) did a fantastic job of piping guests in and out during our Community Cafés - everyone thought they were brilliant! Our commemorative mug – voted for by pupils & gifted to all by the PTA. Thank you! Our ‘Big Draw’ invited everyone to be creative together. The ideas will be used towards our designs for playground wood sculptures to commemorate our 10th Birthday. Visitors enjoyed looking at old photos and newsletters and left Birthday Wishes for the school scrap book. HOB 10th Birthday Celebrations Wednesday 24th February 2016 P4 provided excellent entertainment demonstrating their drumming skills Our Fabulous Fairtrade Committee made sure refreshments were available The mud kitchen has been installed in the garden and looks amazing – everyone loves the hob, sink and shelves! James the janitor managed to take a photograph of our pupils and staff standing in the shape of the number 10 – it was really tricky! Thank you to everyone for all their help and support and for making our celebrations extra special!
