PROM SEASON NEARLY HERE, MOCK DUI
STRESSES IMPORTANT DECISIONS
MARION COUNTY – Marion County’s prom season is nearly here, which means
thousands of students dressing up in formalwear for memorable high school moments.
Here’s a look at this year’s prom schedule for Marion County Public Schools:

March 12 – Belleview @ Jumbolair, 8PM

April 2 – Forest @ Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Show Place Pavilion, 5PM departure

April 2 – West Port @ Walt Disney World’s Board Walk Resort, 5PM departure

April 16 – Lake Weir @ Walt Disney World’s Living Seas, 5:30PM departure

May 7 – Vanguard @ Ocala Hilton, 8PM

May 7 – North Marion @ Jumbolair, 7PM

May 14 – Dunnellon @ Holiday Inn & Suites, Ocala Conference Center, 8PM
Prom season also stresses the importance of students making smart decisions behind the
wheel. To encourage students to avoid impaired driving, the school district and various community
agencies present a Mock DUI scenario each school year. This presentation involves prom, speed,
and alcohol – all contributors to a deadly car crash. The event concludes with a funeral for one of
the crash victims.
This year’s Mock DUI takes place at Belleview High School on Wednesday, March 9, at
9:30AM. Students in the school’s football stadium will view the mock prom night car crash.
Parents, students, and first responders will be involved in the dramatic and deadly scenario.
